Albayrak Group expands investments in Africa with Pointe Noire Port deal

Albayrak Group, one of Türkiye’s leading companies, is expanding its footprint in Africa with a strategic investment. Following the success of its investments in the Conakry Port in Guinea, Albayrak Group has signed a 25-year concession agreement for the Pointe Noire Port in the Republic of Congo, attracting the interest of several African countries.

Comprehensive Agreement

Over the past year, Albayrak Group engaged in extensive negotiations with Congolese authorities, culminating in the signing of a 25-year concession agreement for the rehabilitation,modernization, expansion, and operation of the Conventional Terminals at Pointe Noire Port.

Investment Plans

As part of this agreement, Albayrak Group is planning a significant investment of 401 million Euros in Pointe Noire Port. The investment program will cover infrastructure improvements, screening processes, logistics warehouses, truck parks, and the acquisition of modern port equipment. These investments aim to rapidly increase the port’s cargo handling capacity.

Strategic Outlook

Albayrak Group sees this project as a starting point in the Republic of Congo and is gearing up to implement different projects in the future. One prominent project on the horizon is the rehabilitation of the railway between Pointe Noire and Brazzaville. If realized, this project will transform the Pointe Noire – Brazzaville route into a robust logistics corridor in the region.

Expansion of Transportation Services

In addition to port-related projects, Albayrak Group has initiated efforts to modernize Brazzaville’s public transportation system, renew bus fleets, and provide modern mass transit services to the citizens of Congo. Drawing on its experience in executing public transportation projects in various countries, Albayrak Group aims to contribute to the enhancement of transportation infrastructure in the region.
