Last year, 15 million 689 thousand 258 foreign tourists were hosted in Antalya, breaking an all-time record.
The city, which is among the world’s favorite tourism centers, experienced its best year in tourism in 2023.
The previous record in the city was broken in 2019 with 15 million 280 thousand 763 foreign tourists.
According to the data of the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, 15 million 689 thousand 258 foreign tourists came to the city between January 1 and December 31, 2023.
Last year, Antalya hosted guests from Russia with a maximum of 3 million 461 thousand 762 tourists. There was a 14.10% increase in Russian tourists compared to the previous year.
Russians were followed by Germans with 3 million 363 thousand 510 people. There was also a 19% increase in the number of German tourists.
Antalya also attracted a significant amount of tourists from the British market. 1 million 318 thousand 215 tourists came to the city from England, which ranked third, with an increase of 14.85%.
Poland was also the surprising market. In 2023, 1 million 68 thousand 150 people from Poland preferred Antalya for holiday. There was a 39.60% increase in the number of tourists coming from this country compared to the previous year.
The top ten countries sending the most visitors to Antalya were the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Romania, Czechia, Israel and Ukraine, respectively.
