Toyota Europe grew by 10% in the first quarter of 2024

Toyota sold more vehicles in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year, registering a 10% increase.

According to a statement from the company, Toyota Europe completed the first quarter of 2024 with a rising sales trend. With sales reaching 319,737 units from January to March, the company achieved a 10% increase compared to the previous year.

With these sales figures, Toyota Europe increased its market share by 0.2 percentage points to 7.3% compared to the same period in 2023. On a brand basis, Toyota maintained its second position in Europe with an 8% increase in sales compared to the previous year.

The Toyota Professional light commercial product range continued to attract significant attention. Sales of Toyota’s extensive range of light commercial vehicles, including Hilux and Proace product families, increased by 22% in the first quarter of the year, reaching 40,852 units.

Just like last year, there is high demand for Toyota’s environmentally friendly vehicles in 2024 as well. Following the brand’s goal of reducing carbon emissions as soon as possible, sales performance continued to increase with the introduction of fully electric, full hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Approximately 230,000 of Toyota Europe’s first-quarter sales of 319,737 units consisted of electric, full hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, representing a 10% increase in the sales share of these environmentally friendly vehicles. These eco-friendly vehicles accounted for 72% of Toyota Europe’s total sales in the first three months.

Toyota also continues its leadership in hybrid vehicles in Turkey. The brand maintains its leadership in full hybrid vehicles in Turkey with increasing interest. Offering full hybrid models suitable for every need in different segments, such as Yaris Cross Hybrid, Yaris Hybrid, Corolla Sedan Hybrid, Corolla Hatchback Hybrid, Toyota C-HR Hybrid, Corolla Cross Hybrid, RAV4 Hybrid, and Camry Hybrid, Toyota leads in this area. The high efficiency, low consumption, and comfortable use of Toyota’s full hybrid models make them a preferred choice worldwide.

In the first three months, Toyota sold 8,532 units of full hybrid vehicles in Turkey, reaffirming its dominance in this segment with a 75% market share. The most preferred full hybrid models of the brand in Turkey were Corolla Sedan Hybrid with 4,035 units, Toyota C-HR Hybrid with 2,348 units, Corolla Cross Hybrid with 1,391 units, and Yaris Cross Hybrid with 576 units.

In the first quarter, the most preferred Toyota hybrid models in Europe were Yaris Cross Hybrid (49,186), Corolla Hybrid (41,000), Yaris Hybrid (39,410), Toyota C-HR Hybrid (30,274), and RAV4 Hybrid/Plug-in Hybrid (24,327).
