Approximately ₺82.2 billion will be spent on the development of the industrial environment

Approximately ₺82.2 billion appropriation will be used from the 2024 budget to improve the production and investment environment, increase high value-added production, and create a highly competitive and sustainable structure.

According to the information compiled from the 2024 Central Government Budget Bill, program targets were determined in areas such as the share of the manufacturing industry in gross domestic product (GDP), manufacturing industry exports, the share of medium-high technology products in this, and international direct investment inflow.

A resource of ₺82 billion 181 million was allocated from the budget to achieve the targets within the scope of developing the industry and supporting production and investments.

In this context, the share of the manufacturing industry in GDP is expected to be 21.1% and exports to be $252.3 billion next year.

It is aimed that the share of medium-high technology products in manufacturing industry exports will be 38% in 2024, and the share of high technology products will be 3.9%.

During this period, it is anticipated that there will be $17.9 billion of international direct investment inflow to Turkiye.

Expectation in the number of domestic patent applications is 56%

Approximately ₺512 million were allocated from the budget in order to contribute to technological progress and increase innovation activities by increasing industrial property awareness in all segments of society, serving to the protection and commercialization of these rights.

In this context, it is aimed for Turkiye to rank 10th in the world in domestic patent applications in 2024. It is predicted that the country’s rise to the top in the world in terms of the number of international patent applications originating from Turkiye will contribute to the increase in innovation capacity.

Within the scope of the development and localization of national technologies, it is planned that the increase in the share of domestic patent applications in the total number of applications will also contribute to Turkiye’s innovation and technological progress.

The share of domestic patent applications in total applications, which is estimated to be 55% at the end of the year, is expected to increase to 56% next year.

It is aimed to allocate ₺4 billion 83 million of resources to space and aviation activities next year.
