Approximately $25.8 billion of exports were made from the Aegean Region in 10 months

The Aegean Region’s foreign sales in the January-October period of the year was approximately $25.8 billion.

According to the statement made by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), the Aegean Region increased its October exports by 6% compared to the same month of the previous year, from $2 billion 447 million to $2 billion 601 million.

The region’s 10-month exports were calculated as $25 billion 772 million. Exports were at the level of $25 billion 669 million in the same period last year.

Izmir became the province with the highest exports in the region with exports of $14 billion 231 million. Manisa ranked second with $4 billion 573 million, and Denizli ranked third with $3 billion 517 million.

Exports made through EIB increased by 4% in October, reaching $1 billion 482 million. In the January-October period of the year, the Union’s exports of $15 billion 157 million were recorded, and the organization’s exports in the last year increased by 1.6%, from $18 billion 58 million to $18 billion 340 million.

In October, the exports of the industrial sector increased by 7.6% to $770 million, and the exports of the agricultural sector increased by 1.6% from $619 million to $629 million. The mining sector demonstrated an export performance of $82.9 million.

Aegean Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters’ Association maintained its top position within the Aegean Exporters’ Associations with an export amount of $191 million 250 thousand.

Aegean Textile and Raw Materials Exporters Association increased its October exports from $25 million to $58.7 million. The union became the record holder for export growth in October among 12 exporter unions.

When we look at the countries with the most exports from EIB, Germany maintained its top place in October with exports of $146.7 million. The USA ranked second with exports of $110.5 million, and Spain ranked third with exports of $76.4 million.

Aegean Exporters’ Association Coordinator President Jak Eskinazi, whose evaluations were included in the statement, stated that, as exporters, they are struggling hard not to lose their won markets.

Eskinazi noted that they will achieve the goal of preserving the existing assets despite the negativities in 2023, the 100th anniversary of the Republic, and said, “While our industrial and mining sectors fell behind the previous year’s export figures, it was our agricultural product exports that ensured that our export figures remained positive.”
