According to the information on the website of the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), 70 million 396 thousand 167 passengers were hosted at Istanbul Airport in the January-November period of this year.
Of these passengers, 16 million 926 thousand 712 were hosted on domestic flights and 53 million 469 thousand 455 were hosted on international flights.
It was calculated that Istanbul Airport was used by 14 million 831 thousand 436 domestic passengers and 44 million 284 thousand 331 international passengers in the January-November period of last year.
It was determined that there was an increase of 11 million 280 thousand 400 passengers at Istanbul Airport, where 59 million 115 thousand 767 passengers traveled in the 11 months of 2022, compared to the previous year.
The number of passengers increased by 19% compared to the same period last year.
The number of passengers at Sabiha Gokcen increased by more than 5 million
Between January and November this year, 16 million 242 thousand 923 passengers flew on domestic lines and 17 million 676 thousand 767 passengers flew on international lines from Sabiha Gokcen Airport. During this period, 33 million 919 thousand 690 people arrived and departed from the airport.
In the 11 months of last year, 28 million 41 thousand 128 passengers, including 14 million 22 thousand 861 domestic and 14 million 18 thousand 267 international passengers, were hosted at this airport.
In the January-November period of this year, the number of passengers hosted at the airport increased by 5 million 878 thousand 562 and 21% compared to the same period last year.
In the 11 months of this year, Istanbul airports hosted 104 million 315 thousand 857 people, 33 million 169 thousand 635 on domestic lines and 71 million 146 thousand 222 on international lines.
The number of passengers flying from Istanbul airports, which was 87 million 156 thousand 895 in January and November last year, increased by 17 million 158 thousand 962 people and approximately 20% in the same period of this year.
The number of flights also increased
There was also an increase in departure and arrival flights at Istanbul airports in the 11 months of this year.
At Istanbul Airport, 117 thousand 784 domestic flights and 347 thousand 470 international flights were made in the January-November period of this year. Total flights from this airport were calculated as 465 thousand 254.
At the airport, where a total of 388 thousand 448 flights were carried out in the 11 months of last year, 76 thousand 806 flights were calculated this year, an increase of 20%.
207 thousand 688 flights were made at Sabiha Gokcen
In the 11 months of this year, a total of 207 thousand 688 flights were organized at Sabiha Gokcen Airport, including 98 thousand 211 domestic flights and 109 thousand 477 international flights.
The increase in flights at the airport, where there were 183 thousand 34 flights in the same period last year, was calculated as 24 thousand 654.
During this period, 14 thousand 222 domestic flights and 9 thousand 32 international flights were made at Ataturk Airport, for a total of 23 thousand 254 flights.
In the same period last year, a total of 26 thousand 106 flights were made at Ataturk Airport.
Statistics show that 696 thousand 196 flights were made from Istanbul airports in January-November this year, and 597 thousand 588 flights were made in the same period last year.
It was calculated that the number of flights in the 11 months of this year increased by 98 thousand 608, approximately 17%, compared to the same period last year.
