The amount of carpet exports from Turkiye in the January-October period of the year was $2 billion 230 million 646 thousand.
Zeynal Abidin Kaplan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Anatolia Carpet Exporters Association, gave information about the carpet exports of Turkiye and Gaziantep in his written statement.
Kaplan stated that $2 billion 230 million 646 thousand of carpet exports were made from Turkiye in the 10 months of the year and stated the following:
“Machine-made carpets worth $1 billion 495 million 663 thousand were exported from Gaziantep in a 10-month period. Despite everything, we think that we will achieve our 2023 year-end targets and exceed the 2022 export figures. Our industry has recovered in a short time after the February 6 earthquake and continues to work with all its might to fulfill its mission in line with its sustainable export policy by covering its losses.”
Stating that carpet manufacturers from Gaziantep will travel around the countries and look for new markets in 2024, Kaplan noted that they will continue their work until there is no unvisited market left.
Kaplan stated that the highest machine-made carpet sales from Gaziantep were made to the USA with $476 million 610 thousand, the Middle East countries with $429 million 985 thousand, and the European Union countries with $198 million 198 thousand.
