Turkiye: The amount of collected cow’s milk increased by 1.9% on an annual basis in June and became 867 thousand 11 tons

The amount of cow’s milk collected throughout Turkiye increased by 1.9% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 867 thousand 11 tons.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the data on milk and dairy products production for the month of June.

Accordingly, the amount of collected cow’s milk increased by 1.9% on an annual basis in June and reached 867 thousand 11 tons.

The amount of collected cow’s milk increased by 3.6% in the January-June period compared to the same period of the previous year and became 5 million 270 thousand 538 tons.

Drinking milk production made by commercial dairy enterprises decreased by 11.2% in June compared to the same month of the previous year and fell to 105 thousand 140 tons. In the January-June period, drinking milk production increased by 1.8% on an annual basis to 759 thousand 891 tons.

Yoghurt production by commercial dairy enterprises in June decreased by 5.3% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 100 thousand 107 tons. In the January-June period, yogurt production increased by 0.1% on an annual basis and reached 565 thousand 887 tons.

Cow cheese production reached 64 thousand 138 tons with an annual increase of 12.9% in June, and 382 thousand 19 tons with an increase of 8.4% in the January-June period.

In June, ayran production increased by 4.1% to 70 thousand 447 tons, butter production increased by 3.3% to 7 thousand 126 tons. In the January-June period, buttermilk production increased by 5.8% to 383 thousand 46 tons, while butter production decreased by 15.2% to 46 thousand 416 tons.

The amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairy enterprises, which was 944 thousand 714 tons in May, decreased by 8.2% in June to 867 thousand 11 tons.

Drinking milk production, which was 115 thousand 382 tons in the same period, decreased by 8.9% to 105 thousand 140 tons.
