Chicken meat production decreased by 9.4% on an annual basis in April

Chicken meat production in Turkiye decreased by 9.4% in April compared to the same month of the previous year and fell to 180 thousand 495 tons, while chicken egg production increased by 3.6% to 1 billion 645 million 561 thousand pieces.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the poultry production statistics for April.

Accordingly, 180 thousand 495 tons of chicken meat was produced in April. Production decreased by 9.4% compared to the same month of the previous year, and decreased by 9.7% on a monthly basis.

While chicken egg production decreased by 4.7% on a monthly basis in April, it increased by 3.6% compared to the same month of the previous year. During this period, 1 billion 645 million 561 thousand chicken eggs were produced.

The number of chickens slaughtered in April decreased by 12.7% on an annual basis and was recorded as 98 million 517 thousand.

Turkey meat production increased by 0.3% in the same period and became 3,551 tons.

In the January-April period, chicken egg production increased by 3.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, while chicken meat production decreased by 4.2%, the number of slaughtered chickens by 7.8% and turkey meat production by 7.1%.
