Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. and Airbus signed 3 new cooperation agreements covering the barrier wall of the A350F, the combination of 18 and 19 parts of the A320 series and the middle lower body panels of the A220 series.
Three new cooperation agreements were signed between Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS/TAI) and Airbus.
According to the statement made by TAI, the signed contract will cover the barrier wall of the A350F, the A320 series 18 and 19 section combination and the A220 series middle lower body panels.
From 2024 onwards, throughout the entire program, Turkish Aerospace Industries, which will be the sole source supplier of the A350F Platform-Barrier Wall, will design, manufacture and supply the barrier wall for the A350F Platform, one of the newest platforms of wide-body cargo aircraft that will shape the future of air transport.
TAI will be responsible for 50% of the production and assembly work of the 18/19 sections of the Airbus A320 single-aisle series. Turkish Aerospace Industries will also manufacture and deliver the mid-lower body panels of the A220 series platforms as a sole source supplier from 2023.
TAI has been providing parts to Airbus for over 20 years
Providing thousands of parts and components to Airbus platforms for more than 20 years, TAI’s ongoing projects include the production of A350XWB fins, A330 rudder, A320 part 18 and part 19.
Omer Cihad Vardan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkish Aerospace Industries, whose views are included in the statement, stated that they are proud to sign another comprehensive and long-term business package with the Airbus company, once again. “I believe that the close cooperation between our company and Airbus will support the performance and cost-effectiveness of the A320 Series, A350F, A220 programs.
