Deposits of the banking sector increased to ₺11 trillion 291.2 billion

The total deposits of the banking sector increased by ₺571.8 billion in the week ending June 9 to ₺11 trillion 291.2 billion.

Weekly money and bank statistics were published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).

Accordingly, total deposits in the banking sector (including between banks) increased by ₺571 billion 757 million 559 thousand in the week ending June 9 to ₺11 trillion 291 billion 218 million 462 thousand.

In the same period, TL deposits in banks increased by 1.1% to ₺6 trillion 202 billion 520 million 524 thousand, and foreign currency (FX) deposits increased by 11.4% to ₺4 trillion 593 billion 622 million 264 thousand.

While the total FX deposits in banks were $208 billion 421 million last week, $173.7 billion of this amount was collected in the accounts of residents.

Looking at the change in the total FX deposits of domestic residents, there was a decrease of $1 billion 641 million as of June 9, adjusted for the parity effect.

The amount of installment commercial loans increased

Consumer loans in deposit banks increased by 0.5% last week to ₺1 trillion 299 billion 721 million 719 thousand. In the same period, commercial loans with installments increased by 2.8% to ₺1 trillion 49 billion 877 million 797 thousand, and the balance of credit cards increased by 1.1% to ₺1 trillion 37 billion 355 million 185 thousand.

Of the consumer loans in deposit banks, ₺397 billion 71 million 325 thousand consisted of housing, ₺63 billion 710 million 418 thousand vehicle and ₺838 billion 939 million 976 thousand other loans.

The total loan volume of the banking sector, including the CBRT, increased by ₺333 billion 750 million 405 thousand in the week ending June 9 and reached ₺9 trillion 255 billion 139 million 729 thousand. Total loan volume increased by 53.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
