Approximately $37.9 million of exports were made from Malatya in September

It was reported that $37 million 884 thousand of exports were made in September from Malatya, which was affected by the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaras.

According to the written statement made by Malatya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, exports from the city in September increased by 15% compared to the previous month.

The city’s exports in September decreased compared to the same month last year.

Malatya Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Oguzhan Ata Sadikoglu, whose evaluations were included in the statement, thanked industrialists, exporters and employees for their struggle despite all the difficulties during the recovery process after the earthquakes.

Stating that Malatya has the potential to export more, Sadikoglu said:

“Malatya industry could not return to the pre-February 6 period, our personnel shortage continues. The support and facilitating steps given to the earthquake zone should continue increasingly. New supports are essential for the sustainability of our competitive position. However, access to financing and high costs are among our biggest problems. When we look at global economic indicators, unfortunately raw material costs are increasing all over the world as the dollar gains value. For this reason, we have to increase the added value in our production and take firm steps.”
