Izmir-Midilli voyages, launched by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to revitalize sea tourism, will start on May 3. While 41 flights are planned to be organized twice a week, ticket sales have started in the program, which includes special flights for the Ramadan Feast, and young people will travel with a 50 percent discount this year.
In line with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality’s goal of increasing the tourism of the city and the country through sea tourism, Izmir-Midilli flights will start on May 3.
The sailings, which have been organized by İzmir Deniz İşletmeciliği AŞ (IZDENİZ), affiliated to İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, since 2022, will be organized twice a week, departing on Wednesday and Friday this year.
While the demand is expected to increase following the approval of the one-week visa application for Turkish tourists in the Greek islands by the European Union Commission,additional daily or one-day trips can also be made in line with the demand.
41 VOYAGES TO BE MADE WITH TWO SHIPS THIS YEAR
2024 summer sailings will start on May 3, 2024 and end on September 27, 2024. İhsan Alyanak Ship will be accompanied by Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Ship, the second high-speed ship of İZDENİZ this year. This year, the number of voyages will be increased by 143 percent and 41 voyages will be made throughout the season.
The voyages will depart from Izmir Alsancak Port every Wednesday and Friday at 08.30 and return from Lesvos Port every Friday and Sunday at 17.00. Depending on weather and sea conditions, the journey will take 2 hours and 30 minutes.
SPECIAL SERVICES FOR RAMADAN EID
IZDENIZ has planned a special service for the upcoming Ramadan Feast. In order for citizens to make the most of their holidays, Alsancak departures will be organized on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 and Friday, April 12, 2024, and Mytilene departures on Thursday, April 11 and Sunday, April 14. The weekend price schedule will be valid for the holiday special services. Additional services may be added in case of high demand.
TICKET SALES HAVE STARTED, YOUTH 50 PERCENT DISCOUNT
Ticket prices for 2024; on Friday departures (Friday departure-Sunday return), 0-7 years old one way 5 euro, round trip 8 euro, 8-18 years old one way 22.5 euro, round trip 34 euro, full ticket one way 45 euro, round trip 68 euro.
Ticket fares for Wednesday departures; (Wednesday departure-Friday return) 0-7 years old one way 5 euro, round trip 8 euro, 8-18 years old one way 20 euro, round trip 30 euro, full ticket one way 40 euro, round trip 60 euro. While it is reported that ticket sales for Izmir-Midilli voyages, for which Izmir residents are already making vacation plans, have started, tickets for the voyages are on sale online via the “bilet.izdeniz.com.tr” website.
Tickets can also be purchased from IZDENIZ ticket sales office located in Izmir Port and authorized agencies on the website.
Passengers who wish to participate in the Izmir-Midilli voyages will be able to ride their bicycles on the Izmir-Midilli voyages, provided that they notify during the ticket reservation. İhsan Alyanak and Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Passenger Ships will be able to accept up to 10 bicycle passengers each.
