Financial Services Confidence Index increased in December in Turkiye

Financial Services Confidence Index increased by 0.6 points in December compared to the previous month and reached 161.4.

Financial Services Statistics and Financial Services Confidence Index for December were announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).

According to the survey results obtained by weighting and aggregating the responses of 142 institutions operating in the financial sector, the index increased by 0.6 points compared to the previous month and reached 161.4 in December.

When the diffusion indices of the survey questions that make up the index are examined, the business situation in the last 3 months affected FHGE in a decreasing direction, while the demand for services in the last 3 months and the demand expectation for services in the next three months affected it in an increasing direction.

According to the evaluations regarding the business situation and the demand for services, while the evaluations that there has been an improvement in the business situation in the last 3 months have weakened compared to the previous month, the evaluations that there has been an increase in the demand for services in the last 3 months and the expectations that there will be an increase in the demand for services in the next 3 months have strengthened.

According to the evaluations regarding employment, the trend in favor of those who reported a decrease in employment in the last 3 months turned in favor of those who reported an increase, while the trend in favor of those who expected an increase in employment in the next 3 months became stronger.

In December, when confidence indices in the “Finance and Insurance Activities” sector were evaluated by sub-sectors according to the NACE Rev.2 sector classification, there was an increase of 0.1 and 14.3 points in the “64-Financial Service Activities (excluding insurance and pension funds)” and “65- Insurance, Reinsurance and Pension Funds (excluding compulsory social security services)” sectors, respectively, compared to the previous month. In the “66-Auxiliary Activities for Financial Services and Insurance Activities” sector, there was a decrease of 32.8 points compared to the previous month.
