Non-resident individuals abroad purchased 761.1 million dollars worth of Government Domestic Debt Securities (DİBS) in the week ending on May 3, and foreign holdings of DİBS reached the highest level since December 24, 2021.
Weekly Securities Statistics were published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT).
Accordingly, non-resident individuals abroad acquired net 309.1 million dollars worth of stocks, 761.1 million dollars worth of Government Domestic Debt Securities (DİBS), and 52.1 million dollars worth of Corporate Debt Securities (ŞBS) in the week ending on May 3.
Thus, purchases of DİBS by non-residents abroad, which have been continuing for 6 weeks, reached 1 billion 715.8 million dollars since the week ending on March 22, indicating the strongest foreign investor purchases since December when considering the 6-week periods.
The stock of stocks held by non-resident individuals abroad increased from 37 billion 717.4 million dollars as of April 26 to 39 billion 534.8 million dollars on May 3.
During the same period, the stock of DİBS held by non-resident individuals abroad increased from 3 billion 114.6 million dollars to 3 billion 927.3 million dollars, and the ŞBS stocks increased from 158.1 million dollars to 211 million dollars.
Thus, foreign holdings of DİBS reached their highest level since December 24, 2021, and ŞBS stocks also reached their highest level since October 2021.
Additionally, the purchases by non-residents abroad last week indicated that, for the first time since the week ending on December 8, foreign purchases exceeded 1 billion dollars on a weekly basis.
