Furniture produced in Kayseri is exported to 180 countries

Furniture produced in Kayseri with the participation of more than 620 companies and more than 28 thousand workers is exported to 180 countries.

According to the information received from Kayseri Furniture Manufacturers Association (KAYMOS), Kayseri carries Turkiye’s name to the international arena with well-known brands in furniture. Kayseri produces one in every 2 chairs, 7 out of 10 sofas, one out of every 4 bed bases, one out of every 4 room sets, and one out of every 2 spring beds produced in Turkiye.

In the city, which ranks first in furniture production, 11 of the 20 major furniture manufacturers produce.

$700 million of export in 10 months

KAYMOS Chairman of the Board of Directors Hasan Arapoglu said that Kayseri makes a significant contribution to the country’s economy with furniture production.

Stating that the city achieved an export volume of $700 million in the first 10 months of the year, Arapoglu stated that this figure will increase further by the end of the year.

“Our target is to double this figure next year”

Emphasizing that Kayseri is at a good point in furniture exports, Arapoglu said:

“Although we have experienced a slight decline this year, we will bring Kayseri furniture to a better point in the coming years. Our goal is to double this next year. We have more than 620 companies and more than 28 thousand employees working in the furniture industry. We even export to unheard of countries. Of course, it is necessary to increase this, we can increase this through competition. We extensively export furniture to countries such as Iraq, Germany, USA, France, Libya, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands. We export to 180 countries in total. “In addition, we sell products even to very small countries such as Mairutus, Democratic Congo and Madagascar.”

Stating that increasing energy, raw material and rental prices and the labor problem are among the important problems of the sector, Arapoglu added that they cannot find personnel to train.
