ITO President Avdagic: Fitch Ratings report will impact new foreign investments positively

Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) President Sekib Avdagic stated that Fitch Ratings’ report on Turkiye will have a positive impact on new foreign investments.

International credit rating agency Fitch Ratings increased Turkiye’s credit rating from ‘B2’ to ‘B+’ and increased its rating outlook from ‘stable’ to ‘positive’.

Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) President Sekib Avdagic evaluated the decision on his social media account.

Avdagic stated that Fitch Ratings’ upgrade of Turkiye’s credit rating to ‘B+’ after 12 years will have a positive impact on Turkiye’s ability to attract new foreign investments.

The ITO president said: “The primary goal of all of us is to reduce inflation permanently. We must be able to achieve this as soon as possible within a common responsibility. In this process, credit score increases and rating outlook revisions will also contribute to this struggle, although they are still far behind what Turkiye deserves. Others will and should follow Fitch.”
