Minister Simsek: An improvement of $7.3 billion was achieved in the annual current account balance in the last two months

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek stated that an improvement of $7.3 billion has been achieved in the annual current account balance in the last two months and said, “We expect this improvement to continue in line with our program predictions.”

Simsek shared the September balance of payments data announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT) on his social media account.

Pointing out the positive course in the current account balance, Simsek said, “There has been an improvement of $7.3 billion in the annual current account balance in the last two months. We expect this improvement to continue in line with our program predictions.”

On the other hand, according to the balance of payments data announced by the CBRT, the current account had a surplus of $1 billion 876 million in September.
