Minister Simsek Holds First Asian Investor Meeting in Singapore

Focus on Digital Transformation, Renewable Energy, and Start-Up Support in Productive Talks

Turkish Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek conducted his first investor meeting in Asia, held in Singapore. During his visit, Simsek engaged with investors and key officials, including Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong, to discuss potential areas of collaboration.

In a post on his X account, Simsek described the meetings as productive, emphasizing the positive outcomes of Turkiye’s stability and reform program presented to corporate investors and real sector representatives.

“We had fruitful discussions with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong on key areas such as digital transformation, renewable energy, and the support of start-ups,” Simsek shared. He highlighted the significance of these sectors for future cooperation.

Additionally, Minister Simsek participated in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) General Assembly meeting, where he outlined Turkey’s vision for combating money laundering and terrorism financing in the coming period.
