October inflation figures have been announced

While the Consumer Price Index increased by 3.43% in October, it reached 61.36% on an annual basis.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the inflation figures for October.

Accordingly, the change in CPI was 3.43% in October 2023 compared to the previous month, 55.00% compared to December of the previous year, 61.36% compared to the same month of the previous year and 54.26% according to the twelve-month averages.

The main group that showed the least increase compared to the same month of the previous year was housing with 25.98%. On the other hand, the main group with the highest increase compared to the same month of the previous year was restaurants and hotels with 94.12%.

The main group that showed the least increase was transportation

Among the main expenditure groups, the main group that showed the least increase in October 2023 compared to the previous month was transportation with -0.18%. On the other hand, the main group with the highest increase in October 2023 compared to the previous month was clothing and shoes with 13.73%.

There was a decrease in the index of 15 main headings

Among the 143 basic headings covered in the index, as of October 2023, there was a decrease in the index of 15 basic headings, while the index of 6 basic headings remained unchanged. There was an increase in the index of 122 basic headings.

Except for unprocessed food products, energy, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and gold, the change in CPI in October 2023 is 3.48% compared to the previous month, 60.05% compared to December of the previous year, 67.61% compared to the same month of the previous year and 57.65% according to the twelve-month averages.
