Peugeot remains as the “dynamic” option in the D Segment

The 508 model, renewed by Peugeot, continues to be the option that offers the most comfortable, peaceful and at the same time dynamic driving characteristics in the D segment, from its design to its interior innovations.

The 508 model, renewed by Peugeot, continues to be the option that offers the most comfortable, peaceful and at the same time dynamic driving characteristics in the D segment, from its design to its interior innovations.

According to the Peugeot statement, the Peugeot 508 has been made more “eye-catching”, more “emotional” and more “perfect” with its renewed version as of 2023.

With its Sedan, SW and Peugeot Sport Engineered versions, the new 508 appeals to those looking for a vehicle with a sporty and dynamic silhouette that offers a true in-car experience without sacrificing technology and connectivity.

Customers seek driving pleasure with more environmentally conscious and efficient engines. The new 508 SW appeals to young users by combining the practicality of its elegant silhouette with the appeal of being a family. The new Peugeot 508, which will be produced at the Mulhouse Factory in France, will go on sale in the European market in June 2023.

With the new 508 in Sedan, SW and Peugeot Sport Engineered versions, Peugeot reveals an entirely new silhouette for the top of the range. While the façade reveals more dynamism, it bears the brand’s new logo in its centre.

The new 508 displays a modern appearance by integrating the grille pattern into the volume of the bumper. The new façade also draws attention with illuminations with a three-claw light signature. In all versions, the light signature is integrated into the ultra-slim Matrix LED headlights.

At the rear, new LED taillights combine the signature 3-claw design with sliding turn signals. The new 508 and 508 SW clearly emphasize the upper class in the interior. The ergonomic gear selector, which provides more ergonomics as well as the quality and modernity of the materials used in the upholstery, also contributes to a better experience.

The Peugeot logo sits naturally in the middle of the grille as it radiates outward from the signature

The new 508 has a wheelbase of 2.79 meters, a length of 4.75 meters in the sedan version, 4.79 meters in the SW version and a width of 1.86 meters with the mirrors folded. In the new 508, the grille motif is fully integrated into the volume of the bumper, the patterns applied in the body color to further highlight this new design.

This creates a more modern look at the front. The new Peugeot logo sits naturally in the middle of the grille as it radiates outward from the signature. The front has a less tiered design. This adds to the more modern look. The beam disappears into the grille, giving the silhouette a softer look.

In the 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered version, a sharp and cat-like grille design with a shiny and textured black pattern draws attention. The three-clawed Kryptonite signature stands alone on the end of the hood.

Headlights with Matrix LED technology, which are standard in the entire product range, support the cat stance with their thin and sharp design like never before in a Peugeot. Designed as a single piece, the headlights reinforce the emphasis of technology with the new 3-claw DRL signature and the 3D effect that adds depth.

When viewed from the side, the fresh and dynamic appearance of the new 508 and 508 SW is supported by the new 18-inch Epherra aluminum alloy wheels with a diamond pattern that combines design and efficiency. All aluminum alloy wheels use a 5-spoke wheel design with a Peugeot logo that completely hides the studs. The front, side and rear logos of the new 508 look more modern with new typography and a new Basalt Gray colour.

The light signature on the back has been reinterpreted with a more horizontal and dynamic version of the three-claw theme. Sliding and flashing LED technology is used in the entire product range. The logo has been replaced with a dark Basalt Gray “Peugeot” logo that runs the full width of the central black stripe. This contributes to modernizing the rear and making it visually wider.

In the center of the dashboard is a slightly driver-facing, central 10-inch high-definition touchscreen, optimizing driving ergonomics without the passenger needing to take their eyes off the road.

Below the center display are piano keys that provide shortcuts to the main menu, climate settings, apps, driving aids, phone, media and vehicle settings. The center console features a new e-toggle gear design. The driver can select the modes of the 8-speed EAT8 automatic transmission with a single touch.

On hybrid versions, Brake Function (B) is activated to activate regenerative braking. On petrol versions, this function is replaced by a Manual (M) button. Manual gear shifting is also possible via paddles behind the steering wheel.

There is also the Drive Mode selector, which allows you to select different drive modes depending on the engine option. The selected mode also affects the stiffness of the controlled suspension, if it is trim level.

‘The driver can define and maintain his own screen, atmosphere and setting preferences’

The new 508 offers a connected, ergonomic experience compatible with daily use. The new infotainment system offers the best of the smartphone and automobile worlds to suit every driver’s skills and wishes. Each driver can define and maintain their own screen, atmosphere and setting preferences.

Up to 8 different profiles can be stored in the system. Mirroring connects the smartphone to the infotainment system wirelessly. Two phones can be connected at the same time via Bluetooth. 4 USB ports, 2 USB-C under the front armrest and 2 USB-A for the rear seats, complete the connection options.

The 10-inch high-resolution central display is easy to use, responsive like a tablet, customizable with multiple windows and shortcuts. It’s easy to use, like swiping left to right or up and down through menus, or a three-finger tap to return to the homepage.

As with a smartphone, it is possible to return to the home page at any time by pressing the “Home” piano key. The fixed screen section at the top of the screen shows the outside temperature, air conditioning, location, connection, notification and time information on the shortcut pages.

The Peugeot i-Connect Advanced is equipped with powerful and efficient navigation. The map can be viewed full screen for optimum readability. The system is updated wirelessly, that is, directly over the operator network data.

The “Ok Peugeot” natural language voice recognition command provides access to all requests for infotainment functions, improving safety and usability. The system also includes integrated documentation and tutorials to assist users and answer their questions.

Safer and smoother journeys with driving aids

In the new Peugeot 508, driving aids and state-of-the-art equipment, fed by information gathered by various cameras and numerous radars, make driving, manoeuvring and journeys safer and smoother:

More driving pleasure than ever is in the DNA of the new Peugeot 508, which offers superior handling and one of the best driving comforts in its class. It meticulously benefits from the brand’s technologies and know-how.

The new Peugeot 508 and 508 SW hit the road with its new 180 HP and 225 HP versions, two rechargeable hybrids, 130 HP gasoline and 130 HP diesel advanced engines with high efficiency levels.

All engines are equipped with an 8-speed EAT8 automatic transmission. Neo-performance version 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered Rechargeable-Hybrid transfers 360 HP power to the road with 4-wheel drive.

‘Peugeot reinforced its technological and cat stance identity with the radical character of the new 508’

Peugeot Design Manager Matthias Hossann, whose views were given in the statement, stated that Peugeot reinforces its technological and cat-stance identity with the radical character of the new 508, adding that the ultra-thin headlights and the 3-claw signature have been made a part of the front grille that integrates with the bumper.

Peugeot Marketing and Communications Director Phil York said Peugeot has a long history in motorsports and their participation in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) with Peugeot’s 9X8 is proof of this.

“Clearly, the rules of the game have changed,” York said. The transition to electric has become the epitome of modernity, performance and efficiency, including in the world of motorsport. The new 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered builds on these achievements with design, logo and infotainment modernization.”
