Singapore Airlines reached 100% occupancy rate on Istanbul flights

Singapore Airlines Turkiye Manager Hong Yao Hu said, “We want to increase the number of flights to Istanbul, which are 4 weekly frequencies. Large airports are an advantage to easily increase capacity or plan a flight.”

Singapore Airlines, which has been operating Turkiye flights for 35 years, introduced the new cabin configuration of the Airbus A350 type passenger aircraft used on Istanbul flights. Singapore Airlines Turkiye Manager Hong Yao Hu showed journalists around the plane and gave information about its services before the Istanbul-Singapore flight at the D8 dock at the Istanbul Airport International Departure Terminal.

Stating that all business class seats have access to the aisle, Hong Yao Hu stated that there are a total of 253 seats in 3 configurations on the A350-900 aircraft, including 42 business, 24 premium economy and 187 economy class.

Stating that they offer 4-course meals in business class, Hong Yao Hu said, “We have a separate meal service called ‘book to cook’ in business and premium economy class. There are meals with different scopes, they are prepared in advance. It is available on all long flights departing from Singapore.”

Hong Yao Hu stated that they offer free Wi-Fi service to passengers and continued:

“This service started on July 1. All you have to do is become a member of our KrisFlyer mile program. All KrisFlyer members, regardless of any level, can benefit from free and unlimited internet throughout the entire flight if they enter their reservation and card number at least 1.5 hours before the flight. We are among the top three in the world in this regard. Of course, we have Turkish passengers, but currently there are a lot of travelers from Asian countries. There is Australia and New Zealand. Since Istanbul is a big hub, we have a lot of transit passengers from Europe. Rather than leaving there, he is traveling with us from Istanbul. We started flying to Istanbul with Airbus A350-900 on December 1, 2019. We were the first airline to bring it to Turkiye. The pandemic intervened, but we continue with the same aircraft type.”

Hong Yao Hu pointed out that they achieved 100% passenger occupancy rate with Airbus A350-900 type aircraft with the new cabin configuration and said, “We want to increase the flights to Istanbul, which are 4 frequencies per week. Large airports are an advantage to easily increase capacity or plan a flight. In that respect, Istanbul Airport also provides us with a great advantage.”
