Swedish companies will maximize their trade in Turkiye

Swedish Trade Office Turkiye Attaché Edin Erkocevic stated that Swedish companies will maximize their trade in Turkiye.

Speaking to his country’s daily Svenska Dagbladet, Erkocevic said, “The NATO agreement between Turkiye and Sweden includes the development of commercial relations. This is a situation where Swedish companies will maximize their trade in Turkiye. Now Swedish companies see opportunities for expansion in the Turkish market.”

Stating that Turkiye has become an important center or bridge for Europe and Asia, Erkocevic said, “Today, there are approximately 400 Swedish companies represented or operating in Turkiye. European and Swedish companies want to move from Asia closer to Europe so that they can more easily maintain their production and supply chains. Turkiye is an important center between Europe and Asia.”

An agreement was reached between Turkiye, Sweden and NATO after the trilateral meeting in Vilnius, the capital of Latvia, on 10 June.

One of the items of agreement was to increase bilateral trade and investments.

In the statement, it was stated that Turkiye and Sweden also agreed to increase economic cooperation through the Turkiye-Sweden Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO), and it was stated that Turkiye and Sweden would seek ways to maximize opportunities to increase bilateral trade and investments.
