Turkish Second-Hand Online Car Market Sales Drop by 9% in April

Sales in the second-hand online passenger and light commercial vehicle market in Turkiye decreased by 9% in April compared to the same period last year, falling to 157 thousand 463 units.

Last month, 350 thousand 588 corporate advertisements were published in online media. 157 thousand 463 of these advertisements were sold. There was a 7% increase in the number of advertisements compared to April last year.

In April, there was a 9% decrease in sales volumes on an annual basis and a 16% decrease compared to the previous month.

Looking at the first 4 months of the year, there was a 3% increase in the number of advertisements and a 7% increase in sales compared to the same period in 2023.

Price developments in the online car market

According to the analysis conducted by examining the price changes of 364,881 advertisements for 249 models of the top 35 brands with the highest sales in the second-hand online passenger and light commercial vehicle market throughout the month, it was observed that retail prices in the second-hand online passenger and light commercial vehicle market increased by an average of 0.73% compared to the previous month in April, and by 2.24% since the beginning of the year.

988 second-hand electric cars were sold

When evaluated according to engine type, diesel vehicles were the most sold in the market in question last month with 94 thousand 647 units.

Diesel cars were followed by gasoline cars with 56 thousand 636 units sold, and auto gas cars with 3 thousand 983 units. The number of hybrid car sales was 1209, and electric car sales were 988. In April 2023, 719 second-hand electric cars were sold.

In the January-April period, compared to the first 4 months of last year, it was observed that the share of diesel vehicles in total sales decreased by 5%. The share of electric vehicles increased to 0.63%.

Average sales velocity was 47 days

The average sales speed of vehicles in the second-hand online market in April was determined as 47 days. Renault brand vehicles were sold 8 days faster than the market average, with an average of 39 days.

Mercedes-Benz and BMW branded vehicles were the slowest selling vehicles with a speed of 63 days.
