Top Car Brands in Turkiye for April: Fiat Leads Sales Despite Market Decline

The car brands with the highest sales in the Turkish automobile and light commercial vehicle market in April this year were listed as Fiat, Renault and Volkswagen.

In April 2024, automobile and light commercial vehicle sales decreased by 22.3% compared to the same period last year, reaching 75 thousand 919 units.

In April, automobile sales decreased by 20.61% compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 61 thousand 448, while light commercial vehicle sales decreased by 28.6%, reaching 14 thousand 471.

In the said period, the automobile and light commercial vehicle market grew by 16.2% compared to the 10-year average sales in April.

In April, Fiat ranked first in total sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles with 9,403 units, followed by Renault with 6,795 sales and Volkswagen with 6,787 units. Ford ranked fourth with 6 thousand 512 sales, and Chery ranked fifth with 5 thousand 315 units.

Fiat is the leader in automobile sales

Considering automobile sales, the most sold brand in April was Fiat with 6 thousand 83 units, followed by Renault with 5 thousand 550 sales and Chery with 5 thousand 315 sales.

While Volkswagen ranked fourth with 5 thousand 272 automobile sales, Hyundai ranked fifth with 4 thousand 151 units.

Luxury car sales in Turkiye

With the addition of Renault’s new brand Alpine, it was seen that all brands except Smart, Seres and Neta made sales in April in the ODMD list, which includes a total of 54 brands.

While Togg’s deliveries were 3 thousand 3 units in April, Tesla’s sales remained at 27.

In the luxury car group, 85 Lexus, 78 DS, 63 Porsche, 21 Maserati, 6 Jaguar, 3 Ferrari, 2 each Bentley, Aston Martin and 1 Lamborghini were sold.

Top 5 brands in light commercial sales

Looking at the light commercial vehicle segment, Ford was at the top of the list with sales of 4 thousand 640 units in April, followed by Fiat with 3 thousand 320 and Volkswagen with 1515.

Renault was fourth with 1245 sales, and Hyundai was fifth with 655 units.
