The credit volume of the banking sector decreased to ₺11.3 trillion

The credit volume of the banking sector decreased by ₺11 billion 363 million last week, falling to ₺11 trillion 302 billion 915 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the sector’s credit volume decreased by ₺11 billion 363 million as of December 8.

In the said period, total credit volume decreased from ₺11 trillion 315 billion 278 million to ₺11 trillion 302 billion 915 million.

Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbanks, increased by ₺14 billion 830 million last week. Total deposits of the banking sector, which increased by 0.1% in the week in question, reached ₺14 trillion 161 billion 624 million.

The amount of consumer loans increased to ₺1 trillion 483 billion 81 million

The amount of consumer loans increased by ₺5 billion 683 million to ₺1 trillion 483 billion 81 million as of December 8. Of these loans, ₺439 billion 940 million consisted of housing loans, ₺91 billion 448 million of vehicle loans and ₺951 billion 693 million of consumer loans.

During this period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by ₺1 billion 452 million and reached ₺1 trillion 334 billion 824 million. Banks’ individual credit card receivables decreased by 0.5% to ₺1 trillion 73 billion 156 million. Of the individual credit card receivables, ₺469 billion 782 million were installment debts and ₺603 billion 374 million were non-installment debts.

Legal equities decreased

As of December 8, non-performing receivables in the banking sector increased by ₺151 million compared to the previous week, reaching ₺175 billion 927 million. Special provisions were allocated for ₺146 billion 949 million of non-performing receivables.

In the same period, the legal equity capital of the banking system decreased by ₺727 million and reached ₺2 trillion 399 billion 533 million.
