The last day to pay the second installment of Additional MTV is tomorrow

The payment period for the second installment of the additional motor vehicle tax (MTV) will end tomorrow. If the additional MTV is not paid on time, vehicle owners will pay a monthly delay interest of 3.5%.

In the announcement made on the website of the Revenue Administration (GIB), it was reminded that the payment period for the second installment of the additional MTV will end tomorrow.

Additional MTV regulation was made due to the financing need arising from the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaras. While the first installment payment period of the Additional MTV ended on September 6, approximately ₺13.2 billion revenue was generated during this period, and 87% of the targeted collection was met.

If not paid, late payment interest will be charged

Within the scope of the arrangement, the payment period for the second installment will end on November 30. If the additional MTV is not paid on time, vehicle owners will pay a monthly delay interest of 3.5%.

Payments can be made via the “gib.gov.tr” website of the Revenue Administration, the Interactive Tax Office and the Revenue Administration Mobile application, bank accounts with credit or debit cards of contracted banks, branches, mobile, telephone and internet banking. Additionally, payments can be made to tax office cashiers and PTT branches.

MTV and additional MTV must be paid for sales and transfer transactions

For the sale and transfer of vehicles, MTV and additional MTV must be paid. Unless the additional MTV is paid, vehicle inspections will not be carried out, and registration closures due to withdrawal from traffic, scrapping and taking abroad will not be carried out.

The 2023 Property Tax 2nd installment payment will end tomorrow. On the other hand, the period for creating and signing electronic ledgers and uploading electronic ledger certificates to the Revenue Administration information processing system has been extended until the end of Tuesday, December 5.
