In the 11 months of this year, 199 million 866 thousand 627 passengers were served at airports in Turkiye.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu, in his written statement, evaluated the November airline aircraft, passenger and cargo statistics announced by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI).
Stating that the number of aircraft taking off and landing at passenger and environmentally friendly airports in November was 62 thousand 139 on domestic lines and 53 thousand 486 on international lines, Uraloglu said, “Thus, total aircraft traffic reached 156 thousand 28 with overpasses. When compared to the same month of 2022, there was a 4.3% increase in total aircraft traffic, including overpasses.”
Uraloglu pointed out that the aircraft traffic landing and taking off at Istanbul Airport in November reached 39 thousand 211 in total, 8 thousand 725 on domestic lines and 30 thousand 486 on international lines. “A total of 5 million 782 thousand 734 passengers were served at Istanbul Airport, 1 million 251 thousand 124 on domestic lines and 4 million 531 thousand 610 on international lines.”
Stating that domestic passenger traffic at airports across Turkiye was 84 million 400 thousand 323 and international passenger traffic was 115 million 247 thousand 821 in the 11 months of the year, Uraloglu stated that a total of 199 million 866 thousand 627 passengers were served with direct transit passengers during this period.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, domestic passenger traffic at airports across Turkiye in November was 7 million 5 thousand 925, and international passenger traffic was 7 million 684 thousand 865. In this month, a total of 14 million 706 thousand 406 passenger traffic occurred with direct transit passengers. Compared to November of last year, the passenger traffic served in November increased by 9.7% in domestic passenger traffic and 8% in international passenger traffic, and total passenger traffic, including direct transit, increased by 8.7%.
Freight traffic reached 320 thousand tons
Airport freight traffic reached 320 thousand 161 tons in total, including 62 thousand 311 tons on domestic lines and 257 thousand 850 tons on international lines in November.
In the January-November period, there was an increase in the number of passengers at the airports providing transportation to Turkiye’s tourism centers. During this period, passenger traffic at the airports was 16 million 226 thousand 715 on domestic lines and 38 million 193 thousand 641 on international lines.
54 million 420 thousand 356 passengers were hosted at airports in tourism centers in 11 months, including 9 million 942 thousand 855 passengers at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, 34 million 506 thousand 954 at Antalya Airport, and 5 million 171 thousand 464 passengers at Mugla Dalaman Airport, 3 million 969 thousand 261 passengers at Mugla Milas-Bodrum Airport and 829 thousand 822 passengers at Gazipasa Alanya Airport.
