Turkiye, in the 2022-2023 export season, generated $1 billion 795 million from hazelnuts.
In a written statement from the Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters’ Association, it was stated that the hazelnut export season, which started on September 1, 2022, ended on August 31, 2023.
In the statement, it was stated that 298 thousand 557 tons of hazelnuts were sold abroad for $1 billion 795 million 189 thousand 783 in the said period. It was stated that hazelnut exports in the 2022-2023 season decreased by 12% with a decrease of 41 thousand 590 tons compared to the previous season, and by 9.60% with a decrease of $190 million 854 thousand 786 in value.
In the statement, it was noted that the export in August was realized as $90 million 327 thousand 450 in exchange for 15 thousand 111 tons of hazelnuts, and it was hoped that the new season would be beneficial to all the stakeholders of the sector and that higher export figures would be reached in the new season.
