Turkish Petroleum Joint Stock Company (TPAO) was granted oil exploration license for 3 separate regions in the Marmara Sea.
The Decision Regarding Petroleum Rights of the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources was published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette.
Accordingly, it was decided to grant an oil exploration license to TPAO for 8 years for the marine fields with a surface area of 13 thousand 149 hectares within the Tekirdag provincial borders, 54 thousand 238 hectares in Tekirdag and Balikesir and 27 thousand 668 hectares in Tekirdag and Canakkale.
TPAO applied to obtain a license in the fields in question on September 15, 2023.
