BIST 100 index gains nearly 4 points from previous close
Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened on Monday at 1,355.54 points, up 0.29% or 3.95 points, following a break for the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, which fell last week.
At the last week’s close on Monday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down 0.86% at 1,351.59 points with a daily trading volume of 3.6 billion Turkish liras ($416.7 million).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.6140 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 10.1480, while one British pound traded for 9.1420 Turkish liras.
One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $72.56 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
