Turkish Airlines Makes New Changes to International Schedule

Over the past two days, Turkish Airlines (TK) has progressively submitted adjustments to its intercontinental operations for the Northern summer of 2024, with these changes set to take effect on March 31, 2024.

Turkish Airlines operates flights to 52 domestic and 262 international destinations across 129 countries, with the exception of destinations exclusively serviced by Turkish Airlines Cargo.

Turkish Airlines International Schedule

The most recent update, as of October 27, 2023, includes the following changes as reported by Aeroroutes:

  1. Istanbul – Atlanta: Effective June 11, 2024, there will be an increase from 7 to 10 weekly flights operated by the 787-9 aircraft.
  2. stanbul – Bangkok Suvarnabhumi: Starting March 31, 2024, the service will be reduced from the previously scheduled 17 weekly flights to 14, which will be operated using A330-300 aircraft.
  3. Istanbul – Boston: Effective March 31, 2024, the A330-300 will replace the previously planned A350-900XWB with daily service.
  4. Istanbul – Cape Town: Starting from April 1, 2024, the 787-9 aircraft will replace the originally scheduled A350-900XWB for daily flights.
  5. Istanbul – Chicago O’Hare: As of March 31, 2024, the TK185/186 flights will use the 787-9 aircraft instead of the A350-900XWB. From March 31, 2024, to June 2, 2024, TK185/186 will be reduced from the initially planned 7 to 5 weekly flights, resulting in a total reduction from 14 to 12 weekly flights during this period.
  6. Istanbul – Colombo: Beginning April 4, 2024, the service will increase from 4 to 5 weekly flights, utilizing A330-300 aircraft.
  7. Istanbul – Denpasar: From April 1, 2024, the previously scheduled 787-9 will be replaced by the A350-900XWB for daily flights.
  8. Istanbul – Detroit: Effective July 11, 2024, there will be an increase from 4 to 5 weekly flights operated by the 787-9 aircraft. The flight details are as follows:
  • TK205 departing from IST at 14:20, arriving in DTW at 18:25 on select days (x27).
  • TK206 departing from DTW at 21:00, arriving in IST at 14:00 the following day on select days (x27).

More Changes

  1. Istanbul – Hanoi: Starting from April 5, 2024, the frequency will increase from 4 to 5 weekly, with daily service commencing from July 14, 2024. The flights will be operated using A350-900XWB aircraft.
  2. Istanbul – Havana – Caracas – Havana: Effective April 2, 2024, the 4th weekly service will be maintained, utilizing 787-9 aircraft.
  3. Istanbul – Ho Chi Minh City: Beginning July 12, 2024, there will be an increase in frequency from 5 to 7 weekly flights, all operated by A350-900XWB aircraft.
  4. Istanbul – Houston: Effective June 8, 2024, the frequency will rise from 7 to 10 weekly flights operated by 787-9 aircraft. This planned increase was initially scheduled to start from April 1, 2024.
  5. Istanbul – Johannesburg: Starting March 31, 2024, the 2 weekly nonstop terminator service will be discontinued, but the overall service to Johannesburg will remain unchanged at 7 weekly flights. Additional frequency is scheduled for Durban and Maputo.
  6. Istanbul – Johannesburg – Durban: Effective April 1, 2024, the frequency will increase from 3 to 4 weekly flights, with 787-9 aircraft replacing the previously scheduled A350-900XWB. On August 14, 2024, the A350-900XWB will replace the 787-9.
  7. Istanbul – Johannesburg – Maputo: Beginning April 2, 2024, the frequency will increase from 2 to 3 weekly flights, with 787-9 aircraft replacing the previously scheduled A350-900XWB. On August 12, 2024, the A350-900XWB will replace the 787-9.
  8. Istanbul – Kathmandu: Effective March 31, 2024, the frequency will increase from 3 to 4 weekly flights using A330-300 aircraft.
  9. Istanbul – Kuala Lumpur: Commencing on April 1, 2024, A350-900XWB will replace the previously planned 777-300ER for TK060/061 flights, resulting in a total of 1 daily flight, with each operated by A350 and 787-9.
  10. Istanbul – Male: Starting April 1, 2024, the service will be maintained with 777-300ER instead of the previously scheduled A330-300, operating 5 weekly flights.
  11. Istanbul – Manila – Cebu: Effective April 1, 2024, the 5 weekly service will be maintained, as opposed to the previously scheduled 3 weekly flights.A350-900XWB aircraft will be utilized. This maintains the overall Manila service at 12 weekly flights, instead of the initially planned 10.
  12. Istanbul – Mauritius: Beginning July 12, 2024, the frequency will increase from 3 to 4 weekly flights, all operated by A330-300 aircraft. This results in an overall increase in Mauritius service from 5 to 7 weekly flights.
  13. Istanbul – Mauritius – Antananarivo: Effective July 9, 2024, the frequency will increase from 2 to 3 weekly flights, operated by A330-300 aircraft.
  14. Istanbul – Mexico City – Cancun – Istanbul: Commencing March 31, 2024, there will be 11 weekly flights using 787-9 aircraft instead of the previously planned 5 weekly 777-300ER and 6 weekly 787-9.

Other Changes

  1. Istanbul – Miami: From March 31, 2024, to June 9, 2024, 4 of the 7 weekly flights will be operated by 787-9 aircraft, replacing 777-300ER. Starting from June 10, 2024, 3 of the 7 weekly flights will be served by 787-9 aircraft. On August 13, 2024, TK157/158 flights will increase from 4 to 7 weekly, resulting in an overall increase from 11 to 14 weekly flights.
  2. Istanbul – Montreal: The service will maintain 3 weekly flights with 777-300ER instead of the previously planned A350-900XWB. The 777-300ER service was originally scheduled for January 16, 2024.
  3. Istanbul – Newark: Effective March 31, 2024, the daily service will be operated using A330-300 aircraft, replacing the previously scheduled 787-9.
  4. Istanbul – New York JFK: From March 31, 2024, to June 3, 2024, TK011/012 flights will be reduced from 7 to 5 weekly and operated by A330-300, resulting in an overall reduction from 21 to 19 weekly flights. Starting from June 10, 2024, TK011/012 flights will be served by 777-300ER, replacing the previously planned 3 weekly A330-300 and 4 weekly 777-300ER for the entire season. Additionally, on July 9, 2024, the seasonal 4th daily TK111/112 service will resume, using A330-300.
  5. Istanbul – Osaka Kansai: Effective March 31, 2024, the frequency will increase from 4 to 7 weekly flights, all operated by 787-9 aircraft.
  6. Istanbul – Panama City: Starting from March 31, 2024, the frequency will increase from 4 to 5 weekly flights, with 787-9 aircraft replacing the previously scheduled A350-900XWB. This results in an overall increase in Panama City service from 11 to 12 weekly flights.
  7. Istanbul – Phuket: From April 7, 2024, the service will be reduced from the previously planned 4 weekly flights to 3, using A330-300 aircraft.
  8. Istanbul – San Francisco: Effective March 31, 2024, TK079/080 flights will be operated using A350-900XWB aircraft instead of the previously scheduled 777-300ER. TK289/290 flights will also use A350-900XWB, but from March 31, 2024, to July 13, 2024, the frequency will be reduced from the previously planned 7 weekly to 4, resulting in an overall reduction from 14 to 11 weekly flights.
  9. Istanbul – Seattle: Starting from July 8, 2024, A350-900XWB will replace the 787-9, with 1 daily flight.
  10. Istanbul – Taipei Taoyuan: Effective March 31, 2024, the daily service will be maintained with 777-300ER aircraft, replacing the previously scheduled 787-9. The 777-300ER service was originally scheduled from February 1, 2024.
  11. Istanbul – Tokyo Narita: Commencing March 31, 2024, the 787-9 aircraft will replace the previously planned A350-900XWB for 1 daily flight.
  12. Istanbul – Vancouver: From January 16, 2024, the service will maintain 3 weekly flights with 777-300ER instead of the previously scheduled A350-900XWB. The 777-300ER service was originally scheduled from January 16, 2024.
  13. Istanbul – Washington Dulles: Effective March 31, 2024, TK187/188 flights will be operated using A350-900XWB aircraft instead of the previously scheduled 787-9. From March 31, 2024, to June 2, 2024, TK187/188 flights will be reduced from the previously filed 7 weekly to 4, resulting in an overall reduction from 14 to 11 weekly flights during this period.
