Turkish banking sector’s loan volume increased to ₺11 trillion 228 billion 402 million

The loan volume of the banking sector increased by ₺121 billion 163 million last week, reaching ₺11 trillion 228 billion 402 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the sector’s credit volume increased by ₺121 billion 163 million as of November 24.

During the said period, total credit volume increased from ₺11 trillion 107 billion 239 million to ₺11 trillion 228 billion 402 million.

Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbanks, decreased by ₺154 billion 263 million last week. Total deposits of the banking sector, which decreased by 1.1% in the week in question, reached ₺14 trillion 163 billion 951 million.

The amount of consumer loans increased to ₺1 trillion 470 billion 88 million

According to the bulletin, the amount of consumer loans increased by ₺14 billion 139 million to ₺1 trillion 470 billion 88 million as of November 24. Of these loans, ₺440 billion 744 million consisted of housing loans, ₺90 billion 89 million of vehicle loans and ₺939 billion 255 million of consumer loans.

During this period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by ₺15 billion 915 million and reached ₺1 trillion 324 billion 574 million. Banks’ individual credit card receivables increased by 3.2% to ₺1 trillion 43 billion 637 million. Of the individual credit card receivables, ₺457 billion 816 million were installment debts and ₺585 billion 822 million were non-installment debts.

Legal equities increased

As of November 24, non-performing receivables in the banking sector decreased by ₺690 million compared to the previous week, falling to ₺174 billion 962 million. A special provision was allocated for ₺148 billion 27 million of non-performing receivables.

In the same period, the legal equity capital of the banking system increased by ₺27 billion 867 million and reached ₺2 trillion 399 billion 468 million.
