Turkish benchmark stock index starts Thursday up

Stock exchange earns 65.8 points at opening session

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 7,592.40 points, up by 0.85% or 65.83 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Wednesday at 7,528.57 points, up 0.19%, with a daily trading volume of 95 billion liras ($3.37 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.3455 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT),while the euro/Turkish lira rate stood at 30.0423, and a British pound traded for 34.5060 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $85.35 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,993.55.
