Minister of Treasury and Finance Simsek stated that he believes that cooperation with Kuwait will gain a new dynamism and said, “We have a great potential to develop our cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, tourism, defense industry and energy.”
Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek, regarding Israel’s attacks on Palestine, said, “Words are inadequate to describe the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza. Our wish is for the bloodshed in Gaza to stop, a ceasefire to be established and humanitarian aid to be provided uninterruptedly.”
At the event held in a hotel on the occasion of Kuwait’s 63rd National Year and 33rd Independence Day, Simsek said that Turkiye and Kuwait have close brotherly relations nourished by deep historical and cultural ties.
Simsek thanked Kuwait for its strong solidarity and support following the Kahramanmaras-centered earthquake disaster and expressed his belief that the relations between the two countries will be further strengthened under the leadership of Emir Sheikh Mesal al-Ahmed el-Cabir es-Sabah.
Simsek also congratulated the new government in Kuwait, which took office last month.
Emphasizing that he believes that cooperation with Kuwait will gain a new dynamism, Simsek said, “We have a great potential to develop our cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, tourism, defense industry and energy in line with common interests. We also believe in Kuwait’s 2035 Development Vision. We are ready to contribute from Turkiye to the realization of these goals.”
Pointing out that the 11th meeting of the Turkiye-Kuwait Joint Economic Commission will be held in Turkiye, Simsek said:
“A strong Turkiye, a strong Kuwait is of great importance for the peace, stability and prosperity of our region and the Islamic world. Kuwait’s strong support for the Palestinian cause is also very valuable and admirable. Unfortunately, words are inadequate to describe the human tragedy in Gaza today. Our wish is for the bloodshed in Gaza to stop, a ceasefire to be established and humanitarian aid to be provided without interruption.”
