Benchmark index gains 59.5 points at opening session
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 7,856.15 points, up 0.76%, or 59.5 points, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Monday at 7,796.65 points, up 3.77%, with a daily trading volume of 168 billion Turkish liras ($6.17 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.2010 as of 10.15 a.m. local time (0715GMT), while the euro/lira rate stood at 29.7050 and a British pound traded for 34.7710 liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $84.4 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,927.80.
