Turkish stocks up at Friday’s open

Benchmark BIST 100 index earns 47.2 points at opening session

Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Friday at 6.415,52 points, up by 0.74%, or 47.17 points, from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index hit an all-time high, closing at 6,368.35 points, up 0.41%, with a daily trading volume of 132.95 billion Turkish liras ($5.08 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.1985 as of 10.10 a.m. local time (0710GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.3815,and a British pound traded for 34.3475 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $81.17 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,960.75.
