Turkiye: $1.6 billion were earned from dried fruit exports in 2023

Turkiye’s dried fruit and products industry achieved exports of $1 billion 610 million 304 thousand in 2023.

According to the information compiled from the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters’ Association (GAIB) data, the dried fruit and products sector sent 483 thousand 217 tons of products to 158 countries and free zones last year.

The sector earned an income of $1 billion 610 million 304 thousand in return for this export.

The sector earned the highest income from seedless raisins with $465 million 257 thousand, while it earned $405 million 486 thousand from dried apricots and $271 million 141 thousand from dried figs.

The highest sales were made to Germany with $221 million 70 thousand. Germany was followed by England with $150 million 463 thousand and the USA with $132 million 351 thousand.

On the basis of unions, the highest exports were made by Aegean Exporters’ Associations with $959 million 699 thousand and GAIB member companies with $299 million 955 thousand .

GAIB Dried Fruit and Products Exporters Association President Mehmet Cokmaz stated that Turkiye’s dried fruits and products are on the tables in many parts of the world.

Stating that the sector’s exports have increased, Cokmaz said:

“Our sector increased its exports from $1 billion 568 million 539 thousand in 2022 to $1 billion 610 million 304 thousand in 2023. This shows that the demand for our products is increasing. As manufacturers, we are working to promote the quality and taste of our products in exports. Hopefully, both our exports and our income will increase further. The demand for our products makes us happy. This demand stems from the aroma and taste of our products. We send our products mostly to Europe. Europe is our most important market.”
