Turkiye: $10.6 billion of exports from the automotive sub-industry

In the first 9 months of the year, $10 billion 625 million 651 thousand of “automotive sub-industry” products were exported.

According to the compilation of Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters Association data, exports were made to more than 200 countries, free zones and autonomous regions in the automotive sub-industry in 9 months of the year.

Sub-industry exports, which were $9 billion 640 million 153 thousand in the January-September period of last year, increased by 10% in the same period this year and rose to $10 billion 625 million 651 thousand.

Sub-industry products constituted 41.5% of the total exports of the automotive industry, which was $25 billion 618 million 809 thousand in January-September 2023.

The most exported countries are Germany, Russia and Italy

Germany, the main market of the automotive industry, ranked first among the countries with the highest exports in the sub-industry.

9-month sub-industry exports to Germany increased by 9.97% compared to the same period last year. Sub-industry exports to Germany, which were $2 billion 247 million 950 thousand in January-September 2022, increased to $2 billion 472 million 134 thousand in the same period this year. With this figure, approximately one-fourth of the 9-month sub-industry exports were made to this country.

The increase to Russia, the second country with the most exports, was recorded as 64.41%. This year, $700 million 596 thousand worth of products were sold to Russia, where sub-industry exports of $426 million 127 thousand were made in the 9 months of 2022.

Sub-industry exports to Italy, which ranks third, increased by 12.71%, reaching $666 million 159 thousand from $591 million 22 thousand.

Sub-industry exports to France increased by 17%

During this period, $636 million 555 thousand were exported to the USA, which ranked fourth, with a decrease of 6.3%, and $633 million 802 thousand were exported to France, which ranked fifth, with an increase of 17.67%.

In January-September 2023, the United Kingdom ranked 6th in sub-industry exports with an 18% increase and $555 million 947 thousand compared to the same period last year, Spain is 7th with an increase of 11.77% and $518 million 529 thousand, Poland is 8th with an increase of 10.44% and $436 million 427 thousand, Romania is 9th with an increase of 22.3% and $340 million 35 thousand, and Belgium ranked 10th with an increase of 3.26% and $266 million 77 thousand.
