Turkiye: Exports worth $178 million were made from Thrace last month

Last month, $178 million 7 thousand 490 of exports were made from Kirklareli, Edirne and Tekirdag.

According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Tekirdag, which is in an advantageous position in Thrace in terms of sea and land transportation and has increased its production capacity with its developed industry, became the province that came to the fore with its export figures.

Kirklareli ranked second and Edirne ranked third in the region’s exports last month.

Exports increased to $151 million

While Tekirdag’s exports were $142 million 816 thousand 930 in February last year, exports increased to $151 million 139 thousand 50 in the same month this year.

In Kirklareli, exports, which were $15 million 174 thousand 150 in February 2023, increased to $19 million 352 thousand 320 last month.

Exports from Edirne, which was $6 million 61 thousand 460 in February last year, reached $7 million 516 thousand 120 last month.

On a sectoral basis, most exports were made from Tekirdag in the ferrous and non-ferrous metals sector, while Kirklareli and Edirne came to the fore in the grains, pulses, oilseeds and products sectors.

The highest exports from Tekirdag were to Germany with $29 million 92 thousand 630, the United States with $14 million 446 thousand 720, and Spain with $6 million 271 thousand 700.

The highest exports from Kirklareli were to Germany with $3 million 948 thousand 700, Bulgaria with $1 million 841 thousand 510, and Kenya with $1 million 329 thousand 320.

The countries to which Edirne exported the most were Bosnia and Herzegovina with $1 million 225 thousand 970, Bulgaria with $1 million 56 thousand 550, and Greece with $923 thousand 810.
