The number of passengers using the airline in Turkiye is expected to increase to 229 million 383 thousand in 2025.
According to the information compiled from the “Aircraft, Passenger, Freight Series and Forecasts Report” of the General Directorate of the State Airports Authority of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the number of airline passengers, which was 182 million 225 thousand 531 including direct transit passengers last year, is expected to rise to 229 million 383 thousand 673 in 2025 with an increase of 25.8%.
Next year, it is estimated that the number of airline passengers will increase to 222 million 24 thousand 715.
The biggest increase in the number of airline passengers is expected to be in international flights. The number of international passengers, which was 103 million 465 thousand 515 last year, is expected to increase to 118 million 584 thousand 198 this year. The number of international passengers is expected to be 125 million 106 thousand 385 in 2024 and 128 million 170 thousand 234 in 2025.
The number of domestic passengers, which was 78 million 323 thousand 824 last year, is estimated to be 89 million 981 thousand 743 this year. It is predicted that the number of domestic passengers will reach 96 million 482 thousand 656 in 2024 and 100 million 767 thousand 657 in 2025.
Air traffic will increase
Air traffic, which was 1 million 883 thousand 471 last year, including transit overpasses, is expected to increase to 2 million 162 thousand 679 this year. It is estimated that the air traffic will increase to 2 million 296 thousand 588 next year and 2 million 369 thousand 887 in 2025.
According to the report, domestic air traffic will be 888 thousand 261 in 2023. Air traffic on international lines will be 804 thousand 328.
The transit overpass, which was 394 thousand 845 last year, will increase to 470 thousand 90 this year and 498 thousand 131 next year. Aircraft traffic is expected to reach 512,943 in 2025.
The freight movement, which was 4 million 163 thousand 142 tons last year at airports across Turkiye, is expected to be 4 million 352 thousand 961 tons this year, 4 million 700 thousand 991 tons next year, and 4 million 903 thousand 889 tons in 2025.
