Global gold demand declined in the first quarter, according to World Gold Council data. In Turkiye, the demand for gold increased 5 times compared to last year.
While global gold demand decreased, Turkiye’s demand increased.
According to the data of the World Gold Council, the global gold demand decreased by 13% in the first 3 months of 2023 due to the decreasing investor interest and became 1081 tons.
According to the council’s data, gold demand in Turkiye in the first quarter increased by 5 times compared to the same period of the previous year.
Compared to the previous quarter, there was a 32% increase in gold demand. In total, it was seen that the demand reached $3 billion.
