Uk Competition and Markets Authority approved the launch of a joint company between Arcelik and Whirlpool EMEA

The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) approved the Arcelik and Whirlpool agreement.

CMA announced that the competition review regarding the launch of the joint company of Arcelik and Whirlpool EMEA has been completed.

It was stated in the statement that Arcelik and Whirlpool are among the largest suppliers of home appliances in the UK, including washing machines, dryers, dishwashers and cooking appliances, and that the review found that the home appliance agreement between the two companies would not cause competition problems.

In the statement, it was pointed out that although the companies have strong market positions, they will continue to face serious competition from other suppliers, “The Arcelik-Whirlpool home appliances agreement was approved by the CMA.”

The European Union (EU) Commission announced on October 24 that, within the framework of the Union’s company merger rules, it had approved the acquisition of sole control of the US company Whirlpool Corporation’s home appliance operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa by Arcelik Inc. from Turkiye.
