The “Regulation on Amendments to the Workplace Hazard Classes Regulation for Occupational Health and Safety” has been published in the Official Gazette, reflecting changes in workplace hazard classifications.
According to the updated regulation, activities such as bagel production, virtual office services, ready-made office and shared office services, the renewal of computers and computer peripherals (laptops, desktop computers, modems, gaming consoles), the renewal of communication tools and equipment (mobile phones, smartphones), and the renewal of watches (smartwatches without phone features) have been classified under the “low-risk” category in terms of occupational health and safety.
On the other hand, services related to transfer printing on fabrics and textile products, maintenance and repair of bulk electronic circuits/cards, and maintenance and repair of other professional electronic equipment have been categorized as “dangerous.”
This update aims to align the classification of workplace activities with their respective levels of occupational health and safety risks, allowing for more targeted and effective safety measures. The amendments provide a more nuanced approach to ensure the well-being of workers in various industries.
For further details and information, businesses and relevant authorities are encouraged to refer to the updated regulation in the Official Gazette.
