$19 million export from Turkish honey in 7 months

The amount of honey exports from Turkiye in the January-July period reached $19 million 13 thousand 292. The USA, Germany and Israel were the 3 countries with the highest exports.

Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union Deputy Chairman of the Board Ahmet Hamdi Gurdogan said that honey was sold to 47 countries, autonomous and free zones from Turkiye in 7 months.

Stating that $19 million 13 thousand 292 were obtained from the export of 5 thousand 846 tons of honey in this period, Gurdogan said, “The USA, Germany and Israel were the 3 countries with the highest export sales. $8 million 240 thousand 1 of honey was exported to the USA, $2 million 558 thousand 383 to Germany and $2 million 190 thousand 606 to Israel.”

Drawing attention to the diversity of countries in honey exports, Gurdogan stated that, unlike the same period last year, honey was sold to Croatia, People’s Republic of China, Sweden, Uzbekistan and Cameroon during this period.

Gurdogan stated that honey exports have been canceled due to errors caused by some companies in the past months, and stated that they have high expectations from honey exports in the coming days.

Stating that they aim to increase honey exports, Gurdogan said, “We believe that we can increase our honey exports, especially in European countries, Japan and the USA, with product diversity, organic products, geographically indicated products and branded product exports.”
