2019 figures were exceeded in the number of passengers and aircraft in Antalya

Antalya Airport added a new one to its records. At Antalya Airport, which is experiencing the busiest periods in air traffic, the figures of 2019, which was shown as a record year in the number of passengers and aircraft, were exceeded.

The number of tourists coming to Antalya, Turkiye’s favorite tourism center, is increasing day by day. An all-time record was broken at the airport, which served 214 thousand 919 passengers with 1190 aircraft on domestic and international routes on 5 August.

Since the beginning of the year, the number of passengers and aircraft at the airport in Antalya, where tourists come from all over the world, has exceeded 2019 figures.

In 2019, 19 million 904 thousand 93 passengers were served at the airport, where 114 thousand 473 aircraft landed and departed from January 1 to August 6, while this year these figures reached 20 million 205 thousand 63 passengers and 124 thousand 864 aircraft.

New records expected in daily passenger and aircraft mobility

State Airports Authority (DHMI) Antalya Airport Chief Director Durdali Savkar stated that new investment studies were carried out at the airport with the vision of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, support and follow-up of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and DHMİ General Manager Hüseyin Keskin, while flights took place.

Stating that this year has been an active season, Savkar said, “We have exceeded 2019 figures in the number of passengers and aircraft.”

Savkar stated that from the beginning of the year until August 6, 3 million 595 thousand 454 passengers were served on domestic lines and 16 million 609 thousand 609 passengers on international lines. During this period, 25 thousand 956 aircraft on domestic flights and 98 thousand 908 aircraft on international flights landed and took off.

Reminding that the all-time record was broken on August 5 in terms of both passengers and aircraft, Savkar said, “We aim to break the record again in August, and we plan to exceed the 30 million band at the end of the year.”

Savkar stated that the citizens of 204 different countries came to the city due to the fact that Antalya is a tourism city, and noted that they mostly host guests from Russia and Germany. Savkar stated that England, Poland, Romania, Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Israel, Czechia and Ukraine are in the top 10.

Stating that Antalya Airport is among the most active airports in Europe and in the world in terms of density, Savkar said, “As the General Directorate of DHMI, we have come to the top of the world aviation with Turkiye’s great works and projects by realizing the biggest projects in the history of the Republic. We will continue to run towards the future with airports worthy of the Century of Türkiye.”
