Banking sector loan volume reached ₺10 trillion 995.5 billion

The loan volume of the banking sector increased by ₺71 billion 306 million last week, reaching ₺10 trillion 995 billion 454 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the sector’s credit volume increased by ₺71 billion 306 million as of November 3.

During the said period, total credit volume increased from ₺10 trillion 924 billion 148 million to ₺10 trillion 995 billion 454 million.

Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbanks, decreased by ₺67 billion 682 million last week. Total deposits of the banking sector, which decreased by 0.5% in the week in question, reached ₺13 trillion 839 billion 733 million.

The amount of consumer loans increased to ₺1 trillion 459.1 billion

According to the bulletin, the amount of consumer loans increased by ₺1 billion 236 million to ₺1 trillion 459 billion 121 million as of November 3. ₺442 billion 990 million of the loans in question consisted of housing loans, ₺88 billion 69 million of vehicle loans and ₺927 billion 61 million of consumer loans.

During this period, the amount of commercial installment loans increased by ₺15 billion 997 million and reached ₺1 trillion 289 billion 228 million. Banks’ individual credit card receivables increased by 1.3% to ₺1 trillion 4 billion 411 million. Of the individual credit card receivables, ₺441 billion 472 million consisted of installment debts and ₺562 billion 940 million consisted of non-installment debts.

Legal equities increased

As of November 3, non-performing receivables in the banking sector increased by ₺1 billion 892 million compared to the previous week, reaching ₺172 billion 115 million. Special provisions were allocated for ₺145 billion 139 million of non-performing receivables.

In the same period, the legal equity capital of the banking system increased by ₺256 million and reached ₺2 trillion 351 billion 925 million.
