Turkey’s central government gross debt stock at $201B in November

Treasury and Finance Ministry data shows end-November figure up 19.4% from previous month

The Turkish central government’s gross debt stock totaled almost 2.71 trillion Turkish liras ($201.2 billion) at the end of November, official figures showed on Monday.


The Treasury and Finance Ministry’s data showed that the figure was up 19.4% from the previous month on Turkish lira basis.

The gross debt stock includes the outstanding debt of public sector institutions, the Turkish Central Bank,private companies, and households.

While 920.5 billion Turkish liras ($68.3 billion) of the debt was domestic, some 1.79 trillion Turkish liras ($133 billion) was external, the ministry data revealed.

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 13.47 as of Nov. 30.
