Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, met with Iraqi Oil Minister Abdulgani

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar met with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Petroleum Hayyan Abdulgani yesterday.

In the statement made by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, it was stated that regional issues, especially the Iraq-Turkiye crude oil pipeline, were discussed during the meeting.

Pointing out that the said line is important for the two countries, it was stated that the oil flow from the line should continue as soon as possible after the inspection, control and maintenance works carried out after the 6 February 2023 earthquakes.

The Ministers exchanged views on ways to further develop cooperation between Turkiye and Iraq in the fields of oil and gas, gas and electricity interconnection, renewable energy and energy efficiency. The two Ministers, who are the co-chairs of the Turkiye-Iraq Joint Economic Commission, have decided to hold the 19th meeting of the commission in Baghdad as soon as possible.

After the meeting, Ministers Bayraktar and Abdulgani went for a ride in Turkiye’s car, Togg.
