Having completed its first year in Germany, Trendyol expands to Gulf countries

Having completed its first year in Germany, where it started its international journey, Trendyol is expanding to Gulf countries. Accelerating its efforts to start its operations in the Gulf countries, Trendyol will enable Turkish manufacturers and sellers to open up to the Gulf market.

Trendyol, one of Turkiye’s leading e-commerce platforms, is celebrating its first year of entry into the German market.

Trendyol, which opened its first overseas office in Berlin in line with its international growth plans, became one of the most preferred platforms in Germany in the field of fashion, with its products entirely produced in Turkiye within a year. Trendyol, celebrating its first year in Germany, announced that it has started operations in the Gulf countries as well.

Trendyol Group President Caglayan Cetin said;

“As always, the focus of our future plans is to increase local production together with our domestic producers and to open up this potential of our country to the world. We accelerated our efforts to start our operations in the Gulf countries. There is a great interest in Turkish products in this region. By using our technology and marketing power, we will ensure that the interest in these countries meets our Turkish manufacturers and brands much more effectively. Starting with the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, we set up our e-export operations in the region. We launched our English website and applications in these two countries last week. By the end of this month, we aim to bring together the customers in the region with our producers and sellers in Turkiye by adding the Arabic option. In such a short time, we ranked first in the most popular e-commerce application ranking in Dubai. We think that we will achieve the same success in Saudi Arabia after improving the Arabic language.”

It aims to reach 4.5 million customers

Cetin said that although they did not carry out any marketing activities in Dubai, they received nearly 2,500 orders within 5 days of activating the site.

“Our goal is to improve the experience we offer to our customers by continuing our operation, which started with exports from Turkiye, through our operation center in Dubai. We will enable Turkish manufacturers and sellers to sell in these countries through Trendyol. We aim to reach 4.5 million customers in this region by 2024. We have a warehouse in Dubai that we have opened for our international operations. We aim to use this warehouse for the return operations of the Gulf region as well. I can say that the Gulf operation excites us with a new geography, a different culture and experiences.”

36 million product sales in Germany

Caglayan Cetin said, “As Trendyol, at the top of our future plans is always to bring Turkiye’s production power to customers abroad with e-export. Last year, we took the first step towards this and opened our first overseas office in Germany. Today, over 1 million customers shop from more than 200 Turkish brands through Trendyol in Germany. They can reach more than 350 thousand products through our platform. Since 2021, more than 1 million customers abroad have purchased 36 million products through our platform. We have recently been named Europe’s number one fashion marketplace by the German Association of Online Retailers (BVOH). In the last 12 months, the Trendyol application has become one of the most downloaded applications in Germany.”
